<p>The transmission unit gives a steplessly variable ratio between driving and driven shafts. It comprises a differential with cage (16) and crown wheel (11) and input and output shafts (2,4). A first gear pump (7), with output adjustable independently of speed, is coupled to the input shaft, and a second one (17), with speed-dependent output, to the crown wheel. Each pump outlet is connected to the inlet of the other by a common pipe (21) through which liquid is pumped. This contains a bypass (22), by which the circuit between the pumps can be made and broken.</p> |
