The gangway is particularly for use between a moored ship and the adjacent quay, having a walking surface between the two beams spaced apart in the horizontal direction. The surface is formed by successive individual steps (13) pivoting for a limited amount in the beams (11, 12). Fixed to each step is an intermediate lever (22), protruding radially from te hinge axis. The levers are coupled to a common adjusting lever (21), in turn actuated by an adjusting member (31). ADVANTAGE - Ensures safe transit even between widely different levels.
