An air conditioning appts. for use with a switchgear housing is in the form of one sub-unit (21) located adjacent to the housing wall and a second unit (22) that houses the units of the air conditioning plant. The housing has a back panel (23) and side panel (24) secured by bolts (38) and nuts (40) and having a flexible sealing strip. The mounting for the housing panel (22) is provided by threaded studs (32). Threaded pins (27) are fixed to the inner housing panel and the studs locate on them while being supported on brackets. Access to the studs for tightening is via holes (43) in the panel.
