The counterbore tool for bevelling the edges of drilled holes in inclined surfaces has at least one cutting element in a tool body which is rotatable about its long axis (L). The work body (3) is formed from at least one axially parallel guide hole (2a, 2b, 2c) in which axially liftable elements (5, 7) are housed which are movable against a spring bias. The guide body has a conical tip (4) and several, pref. 3 guide holes (2a, 2b, 2c) contain elements pref. cutter elements (5, 7) with their working surfaces standing proud of the conical casing surface. The guide holes are pref. the same radial distance from the long axis (L) of the guide body and the cutting elements are restricted from rotating within the guide holes. USE/ADVANTAGE - The tool is esp. used in metal working and gives uniform (not elliptical) bevelled hole edges in inclined surfaces esp.
