The U.V. sensor, producing an electric signal, is mainly sensitive in the U.V. A and B ranges. The sensor is mounted outside pref. on the dial or itself formly the dial. Several U.V. sensors can be distributed over the watch strap and/or the watch case. The watch pref. contains a micro-controller for time control, evaluation of the sensor siganls as well as the controlling delivery of the display values and warning or alarm signals. An input facility can be provided so that weighting factors can be added to the measured U.V. radiation according to skin type and/or quality of protective lotion used. USE/ADVANTAGE - Protecting against sun burn, esp. when sun bathing. Robust compact. No need to carry extra device.
