The degree of cure of a substrate impregnated with a resin is tested by a method with cure which cures the resin at a set temp. A smaple of the material is held taut and is dipped into a liquid which is neutral towards it and which is at a curing temp, the sample and liquid are then moved and the energy required for the movement is measured. Specifically a vessel (1) is fitted with heating or cooling jacket, as required for the curing temp to be used, ano it is filled with (preferably) silicone oil. Above is a vertically moving reversible drive (3) whose shaft is connected to a measurirg head (4). The drive should either be continuous in one direction or reverse at set intervals.
