TRAVELING ROUTE DISPLAY DEVICE

PURPOSE:To enable a user to easily update the control program of the device by holding the control program in a CD-ROM holding map data. CONSTITUTION:The control program of the traveling route display device and the map data for display are held in the same CD-ROM (compact disk read-only memory) 8. The appropriate map data is taken out of the CD-ROM 8 in accordance with the present position data from a present position measuring instrument 13 by using the greater part of the control program exclusive of a ROM 11 in the CD-ROM 8 by a small quantity of the basic program held in the ROMF 11 in a controller 9 and is displayed on a display device 14 in such a manner. The updating of the control program which is heretofore impossible for the user is easily executed in this way.
