PURPOSE:To allow the simplification processing taking routes into consideration by executing a prescribed distance calculation and cumulative value calculation between the characteristic quantities of an input frame and the standard pattern frame corresponding thereto. CONSTITUTION:The characteristic of the i-th frame of the input pattern A and the characteristic quantity of the n-t frame of the standard pattern of a word (n) are read out and the distance (d) between the characteristic quantities is calculated in a distance calculation section 2. The calculation is then executed in a cumulative value calculation section 3 and the optimum route is obtd. by a return processing section in accordance with the route value of a return point memory 3 after the calculation of the total cumulative value. The route restriction value to the previously determined part of a network memory 7 is stored if this part is traced in a route memory 6 by text level processing. A test is made by the content (e) of the route memory 6 and the decision condition (c) on the network memory 7 in a route limiting section 5. The route to be traced next is limited by the result (g) thereof and the result of the recognition is obtd. from the return processing section 9. The network indicating the test to be recognized is simplified in this way. |
