The security equipment protects the driver of a taxi in particular from attack. It comprises a loop (3) invisibly mounted ont he passenger seat, and which is suddenly contracted by a mechanism (6, 7) controlled by the dirver. This locks the passenger or attacker to the seat with the knees pressed against his body. The loop can be secured at one end to the seat and at the other to a motor-driven winch. A starter motor can be used as the motor, being controlled by a switch at the driver`s seat. A locking device can be provided, loop or winch movement in the reverse direction. ADVANTAGE - In acute danger, the driver can secure the attacker to his seat so that he cannot move.
