PURPOSE:To keep a chamber at a high humidity and keep a high degree of freshness of a food by a method wherein a chilled chamber is of a closed structure, the chilled chamber is connected by an aeration passage with a surrounding air of a refrigerator and an opening or closing means for opening or closing the aeration passage is provided. CONSTITUTION:A first chilled chamber 13 is closed, no influence of air passing through an aeration passage 12 is applied and further no influence of low humidity caused by cold air of low absolute humidity is applied. Within the first chilled chamber 13, a food is not packaged by a wrapping and a vinyl bag and the chamber can be kept at a high humidity under an evaporation of slight moisture produced from meat or vegetables or the like. However, in the event that there is a little amount of food or there is a few times of opening or closing of door, it becomes difficult to keep an inside part of the first chilled chamber 13 at a high humidity. Then, a solenoid 26 is driven to cause a linkage 27 to be moved and dampers 24 and 25 release the aeration passage 22, so that the air having high absolute humidity out of the refrigerator 23 enters the first chilled chamber 13 so as to keep the inside part of the refrigerator at a high humidity. |
