PURPOSE:To restrain the increase of the electrostatically charged amount of toner which is secondarily transferred to an intermediate transfer body and to uniformly secondarily transfer each color toner to a transfer material with excellent efficiency by successively lowering the output of an electrostatic charging means every time an image which is color-separated is formed on an electrostatic latent image carrier. CONSTITUTION:Every time the image which is color-separated is formed on a photosensitive drum 1, the output of the electrostatic charger 2 is successively lowered. Therefore, primary transfer to the intermediate transfer belt 5 is efficiently performed without making the output of a primary transfer charger 6 so high, and the electrostatically charged amount of the toner image which is primarily transferred to the intermediate transfer belt 5 is not increased so much. Thus, the electrostatically charged amount of a toner image which is primarily transferred to the intermediate transfer body 5 is nearly uniformized to be kept low every color toner, and the efficiency of the secondary transfer is made uniform and excellent, thereby obtaining the high-quality color image excellent in color balance. |
