Filter press, that is comprised of a gravitational dewatering part (1) and a high pressure part (3). A rotating drum (35) is fitted in the high pressure part (3), along which a pair of filter belts (4, 5) on a support belt (6, 7) are fed forward with a device for exerting pressure against the support belt (6, 7) in order to press the filter belt together with the support belt with the purpose of pressing water out of the mass (13) through outward opening canals in the support belt. A middle part (2) for exerting a middle pressure against the mass can be arranged and the support and filter belts are designed without a break. The invention also includes special measures for cleaning, the exertion of different pressures and operation as well as other modifications but according to the invention, the main principle is to progressively increase the pressure by feeding the sludge forward between the belt (4, 5 and 6, 7) and the water, that is pressed out, is led away through canals (8, 9) in the cross belt without any friction stress between the different belts, when these are fed forward at the same speed.<IMAGE> |
