PURPOSE:To simplify the operation control of a device equipped with a retarder and an exhaust brake by providing a control switching circuit which switches control so that the retarder and the exhaust brake operate independently of each other or simultaneously. CONSTITUTION:An auxiliary brake device having a retarder 1 and an exhaust brake 5 which has a butterfly valve 4 provided within an exhaust pipe 3 is provided with a control switching circuit 6 which switches control so that the retarder 1 and the exhaust brake 5 operate independently of each other or simultaneously. When a retarder control level 8 is set in its ON state a cut relay 9 is operated and the retarder 1 is put in an operational condition by control of a retarder control circuit 10 and at the same time an interlock relay 11 is operated to open a solenoid valve 12 in order to supply compressed air from an air tank 15 to the exhaust brake 5. Thereby an accelerator pedal 7 is released and, when an accelerator pedal switch 13 is on, electric braking is achieved by the retarder 1 and also braking forces are exerted by the exhaust brake. |
