PURPOSE:To allow an air bag to be large in depth despite low capacity by providing a tubular piece of cloth having small and large openings at both ends, and joining to each opening a piece of cloth for blocking each opening, and forming some cross section parallel to the large opening of the tubular piece into an asymmetrical shape. CONSTITUTION:This air bag is formed when two pieces of cloth shown by a cutting pattern (a) are joined together from A to B and from C to D into a tubular portion 3 having two openings 1, 2, the bigger 2 of which is blocked by junction of cloth cut into the shape shown by (b); i.e., the air bag comprises the side tubular portion 3 and a blocked portion 4, both of which are joined together as indicated by the dotted line, with a gas generater mounted on the small opening 1. The air bag which can fill the space of the passenger seat and the rear seat with air in spite of low capacity and which can be fabricated by a simple method is thus obtained. |
