PURPOSE:To reduce cracks and defects by pouring a specified slurry into a porous casting mold made of metal, glass or ceramic powder, converting the mold into a gas unpassable film and carrying out hot isostatic pressing. CONSTITUTION:The surface of a pattern corresponding to the cavity in a casting mold and made of wax, resin such as urea resin, urea, etc., is coated with a suspension of powder of a metal (e.g. Fe), glass (e.g. quartz glass) or ceramics (e.g. Si3N4) having a lower softening point than a metal or ceramics to be sintered by >=10 deg.C and the pattern is removed to obtain a porous casting mold. A slurry prepd. by dispersing metal or ceramic powder of 0.02-100mum particle diameter in a dispersant (e.g. acetone) which can be extracted with a supercritical fluid or liquefied gas is poured into the porous casting mold and the sprue of the mold is covered with a metal, glass or ceramics. The dispersant is then extracted with the super-critical fluid or liquefied gas while holding the mold at the m.p. of the dispersant or above, the mold is converted into a gas unpassable capsule by heating to the softening point or above and hot isostatic pressing is carried out. |
