PURPOSE:To obtain basic refractories for pouring having superior resistance to the penetration of slag, superior spalling resistance and durability by mixing refractory aggregate obtd. by adding a prescribed amt. of zircon to magnesia with phosphate glass and a hardening agent in a specified weight ratio. CONSTITUTION:Refractory aggregate consisting of 3-40wt.% zircon and the balance magnesia is mixed with 1-10wt.% phosphate glass basing on the amt. of the aggregate and a proper amt. of a hardening agent such as alumina cement to produce basic refractories for pouring. Since the phosphate glass is used as a binder, thermal expansion stress in a medium temp. range does not considerably increase and lowers from the peak at about 500-700 deg.C. When metal fibers such as stainless steel fibers are further added by <=7wt.% basing on the amt. of the aggregate, residual shrinkage is prevented and exfoliation is also prevented. |
