PURPOSE:To produce diphenylbutane with single-stage reaction in high yield by reacting benzene with 1,3-butadiene in the presence of Y-type zeolite as a catalyst. CONSTITUTION:Diphenylbutane is produced by reacting benzene with 1,3-butadiene in the presence of Y-type zeolite (Y-type zeolite may be used as it is or after various treatments). The amount of the Y-type zeolite is preferably 0.01-50wt.% based on the benzene/1,3-butadiene mixture raw material. Since the catalyst can easily be separated from the reaction system after the reaction, the process can remarkably be simplified and the separated catalyst can be reused in the reaction at need. |
