The present invention relates to a process for facilitating the scaling of a hexagonal nut or the like by a rotary nut socket, those limit sides 3-5 of the nut socket which surround the nut-receiving opening in the socket 1 being symmetrically broken in the outward direction at an angle a within the range 10 degree -25 degree, preferably within the range 15 degree -20 degree. The invention also relates to a nut socket. The process is characterized in that the nut socket is made to rotate at an angular velocity within the range 5- 80 degrees/s, and in that a force within the range 0-15, preferably 2-8 N/cm2, acts upon the socket during its initial scaling of the nut.
