PURPOSE:To ensure superior fixability at low temp. and stable electric charge controlling property by incorporating a polymer having specified mol. wt. when the mol. wt. distribution of the THF-soluble component is measured by GPC into binding resin and a specified amt. of Fe (II) into magnetic iron oxide. CONSTITUTION:When a magnetic toner contg. binding resin contg. vinyl resin and magnetic iron oxide is produced, a polymer having 500-20,000 mol. wt. when the mol. wt. distribution of the THF-soluble component is measured by GPC (gel permeation chromatography) is incorporated into the binding resin by 50-80 wt.% and Fe (II) into the magnetic iron oxide by 18.5-24.1 wt.%. Since such a large amt. of the low mol. wt. polymer is incorporated into the binding resin, the magnetic iron oxide acts effectively as a proper leak site to excess electric charges on the toner and superior fixability at low temp. and stable electric charge controlling property are ensured.
