PURPOSE:To improve power loss frequency characteristics, by adding at least one or more kinds of Zr, Hf and Ta as silicide in a method wherein Mn-Zn based ferrite is manufactured by an ordinary powder metallurgy method. CONSTITUTION:By adding at least one kind selected out of zirconium silicide, tantalum silicide, and hafnium silicide to Zn-Mn based ferrite, power loss can be remarkably reduced. so that low loss magnetic substance which can be used at a high frequency higher than or equal to several hundreds kHz is obtained. When a magnetic core using this low loss oxide magnetic substance is built in a switching power supply, the heating value is reduced, and electric power can be supplied with high efficiency. |
