<p>PURPOSE:To attain the sequential use of a collective device by holding the load of a subsequent host system until the application of a precedent host system is over when the accesses are generated at the same medium at the same time. CONSTITUTION:An access device 12 contained in a collective device 10 tries to move a medium with an instruction of a mount execution means 4. If the medium is presently used by another host system 15, the absence of the medium is reported. A mount control means 3 sets a load retry state into a load state storage means 7 and at the same time gives an instruction to a timer retry means 5 for retry of the load. The means 5 sets a timer, refers to the means 7 when the set time has passed, and gives an instruction to the means 3 to carry out again the loading operation. Thus the load of a subsequent host system is held until the application of a precedent host system is over even though the access requests are simultaneously produced to the same medium from plural host systems. Then the device 10 can be sequentially used.</p> |
