PURPOSE:To improve the quality of the binary images to be received by deciding the data quantity per unit size of the images in accordance with the data transmission rate, transmission time and image size of picture signals at the time of image reception and making various kinds of image correction effective for the ordinary binary images if this data quantity is below a specified value. CONSTITUTION:This facsimile device is constituted of a scanner 1, a plotter 2, a coding/decoding section 3, a page memory 4, an image correction section 5, a MODEM 6, a dot controller 7, an operation display section 8, a system memory 9, and a system control section 10. The data quantity of the pseudo medium contrast images is larger than the data quantity of the ordinary binary images and, therefore, if the data quantity per unit size of an image is small, this image can be decided as the binary image. Various kinds of image correction are executed only when the image is discriminated to be the binary image. The good images are obtd. in this way. |
