The invention relates to a floor indicator device for a lift. The device comprises a network for managing information of the type operating in serial transmission and calling upon at least one data-acquisition and -processing card (board) (9) connected to display modules (13) on the lift car and on each of the floor landings, the said board delivering, on the basis of conventional floor sensors (5, 5') a floor number and car direction-of-travel information signal and, possibly, a signal of a complementary data item inherent to each floor or of general nature, the data item signal being picked up on display modules driven in slave mode by the said board in serial transmission on the said network. <IMAGE>
