PURPOSE:To switch the high picture quality recording system and the normal recording system with switch operation by adding one set of magnetic heads to a conventional VTR as a broad band luminance signal recording and reproduction. CONSTITUTION:A TV signal is inputted from a terminal 5 to switches 6, 7, the switches 6, 7 are set to the H position for the high picture quality and the L position for the normal recording system. In recording a signal normally, a luminance signal subject to frequency conversion outputted from a frequency converting circuit 12 and a chrominance signal subject to low frequency conversion outputted from a low pass filter 19 are summed at an adder circuit 13, the result is given to heads 1A, 1B via a switch 14 and a recording amplifier 15 and recorded on a tape. In recording a signal for the high picture quality, the luminance signal in a TV signal is separated by a low pass filter 8, given to heads 2A, 2B via a frequency converting circuit 9 and a recording amplifier 10 and recorded on a tape. |
