For the purpose of aerating waste waters, a tubular main body (1) is surrounded with an elastic perforated membrane (4), via the perforations of which, when pressurised, the compressed air is distributed in fine bubbles into the liquid via openings in the main body and, when unpressurised, tightly encloses the main body. A connecting element is provided which connects the main body to a compressed-air feed tube (3) and supports it. The main body itself is manufactured from a commercially available piece of tube and is provided with a fixing element and at least one radial air passage opening (6), the connecting element provided between the main body and the compressed-air feed tube being a supporting body (2), one end of which passes through the compressed-air feed tube and the other end of which, that end which lies opposite the air feed tube, engages in the main body, providing support and sealing against the liquid.
