<p>PURPOSE:To operate a steering wheel irrespective of a trouble by arranging a torque limiter on the output side of a planetary gear type speed reducer to be disengaged at the time of a trouble. CONSTITUTION:In a housing 1 are arranged a planetary roller type speed reducer 2, a torque limiter 3, and an output shaft 4 to transmit the torque of a motor 5 to a steering mechanism section. If the speed reducer 2 or the motor 5 stops rotation by any cause, an output shaft 4 also stops rotation. However, if a steering wheel is operated, the operating force is transmitted by way of the steering mechanism section and a small bevel gear 8 to the output shaft 4. Here the flanges 3a and 3b of the torque limiter 3 are disengaged and the power transmission with the carrier 2d and the output shaft 4 is stopped. As a result, the steering wheel can be operated without any problem.</p> |
