Sterilising vessel has a trough-shaped lower part (2) on which a cover (5) is placed, a flange (6) surrounding the top of the trough, with a seal between the two parts. Openings (12, 13) are provided in at least one side wall (4), covered by a plate (8) riveted to the side wall and carrying the locking arrangment for the vessel. The plate has at least one recess (11) to accommodate a data carrier. The openings are covered by a filter or valve. ADVANTAGE - Double lid is not required.
