Destruction of weeds and vermin by electric heaters - towed through spaces into which hot air or vapour is blown between rows of cultivated plants

A mobile electric generator (3) driven (2) from a tractor (1) supplies current via wires (4) to radiant heaters (5) integrated with reflectors (6) and blowers (7) into cloches (8) which are towed between rows of useful plants (10). The cloches (8), jointed (9) to allow for variations of ground level, cover the full width of the spaces between the rows. The heaters (5) may be sprayed with liq. to generate hot vapour. The principle is applicable also to snow and ice clearance. ADVANTAGE - Method requiring very little energy leaves no residue to pollute ground and environment or contaminate useful growth.
