An audiovisual teaching system has as its main object to create a rhythmically exact synchronicity between elements of a picture or of a picture relief and music set to the picture elements. The integration of an optical display in order to highlight with an electronic control parts of the picture, in particular on the pages of a book, is ensured by electronically controlled optical display means arranged underneath picture elements arranged on transparent parts of the pages.
