PURPOSE:To conduct fixing of toner image stably, by providing a sensor that inspects the surface temperature of a thermal roller, and at the time of roller warm-up, commencing the rotation of the roller after the time when a detection temperature by means of the sensor has reached a toner glass transition temperature. CONSTITUTION:When a power source is turned on, the heating of a thermal roller 1 is commenced, but not rotated, and temperature keeps rising while being stationary. This relation is shown by the graph in which the temperature rising of the roller 1 is shown at a vertical axis and time is shown at a horizontal axis. And it is inspected by means of a temperature sensor 8 that the roller 1 temperature has reached a toner glass transition temperature Tg (about 60 deg.C), and the rotation of the roller 1 is commenced at this time, and a pressurizing roller 2 following the above rotation is also rotated. And then, it is inspected by the sensor 8 that the temperature of the roller 1 has reached a fixing temperature T (195 deg.C), and afterwards, the roller 1 comes to a fixable condition as it is being controlled so as to retain a fixed fixing temperature. |
