PURPOSE:To reduce the operation of keys by expressing all the letters within one screen according to the number of letters in one specified line, and making display to which a display screen is most effectively applied automatically practicable. CONSTITUTION:The number of letters in one line specified by a key board 1 is stored in a register 11, and a size deciding section 13 converts the number of letters into a dot, and sends display letter size information decided by comparing the converted dots with the maximum display width to a letter pattern generating section 5. When the letter is inputted from the board 1, the letter is converted into a corresponding dot font in a font memory 4 through the text memory 3 of an editing section 2. The generating section 5 reduces or enlarges the dot font at magnification according with size information to write it into a video RAM 8. The contents of RAM 8 are read out by a display control section 10 with the progress of scanning, and displayed on the screen of a display 9. |
