PURPOSE:To easily form a color image without incurring enlargement of the size of a device and retardation of a image forming speed by enabling the rotation of an image bearing medium to be reversed, and by selecting a desired developing device in accordance with a rotating direction of a toner image bearing medium. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical hollow photosensitive medium drum can be rotated in both normal and reverse directions, and an electroconductive layer 1b is grounded. For example, a first change-over lever 4A and a second change-over lever 4B are both raised up a recording sheet 10 which has been once dichromatically developed is stored in a sheet discharge cassette. Then the rotations of sheet discharge rollers 6C are reversed so as to return the recording sheet 10 to the position of a register roller 3B, and thereafter, the rotation of a photosensitive drum 1 is reversed so as to carry out remaining dichromatic exposure and development and after a condition that left and right exposure units 9B, 9A are moved to and fixed at the position of a cian developing cartridge 8C and the position of an yellow developing cartridge 8Y, respectively. Further, the remaining dichromatic toner image is led to an image- transfer position as the drum 1 is reversed. Thereby it is possible to facilitate the formation of a color image without incurring the size of the device and retardation of the image forming speed. |
