PURPOSE:To reduce loss due to crosstalk of through light by recti-linearly extending an output port from a cross portion one a waveguide path, and providing the other light waveguide path, taking the cross portion as the terminal end portion. CONSTITUTION:When a current is not poured from a light switch electrode 11, light input from an input port A1 rectilinearly advances a cross portion C to be output from an output port A2. Light from an input port B1 obliquely crosses a crossing portion without total reflection at the crossing portion to be emitted from a light path comprising the input port A1 and the output port A2 to clad on the side thereof. In case of outputting light from the input port B1 to the output port A2, a current is poured from the electrode 11 to manifest a total reflection surface on Zn diffusion area 10. Thus, in a light switch, light from the input port A1 is kept from crosstalking to portions corresponding to the output port B2 so as to reduce loss. |
