PURPOSE:To protect an operator against a laser beam securely in case a safety means does not work by radiating the laser beam from the front of a printer main body where the operator is positioned toward the inner part. CONSTITUTION:A laser beam is radiated from an optical system unit 100 toward the depth of a main body frame 1. It is safe for an operator, therefore, and a safety circuit is assembled to operate a sensor when a holding frame 21 is carried up and stop radiation of the laser beam from a light source unit 110. A shutter 120 is a safety measure for an emergency. The periphery of a slit 152 in the surface of a rear end part of a housing 151 of the image forming cartridge 150 is colored in black. When the cartridge 150 is carried up during the laser beam radiation, there is a possibility of the laser beam reflected to the operator by the surface of the housing 151 crossing a light passage. The surface of the housing 151 where the laser beam may reflect is thus formed non-reflecting, thereby a risk of the laser beam radiated to the operator can thus be avoided. |
