PURPOSE:To improve the reliability of a system by comparing angular differences between road angle arrangement and travel locus angle arrangement for each route plan, and selecting the route plan having the most approximate road angle arrangement. CONSTITUTION:A car running position display device has a road map data memory means 4, a coordinate computing means 6 to compute a car running position from a car speed sensor 2 and a running direction sensor 3, an angle computing means A.7 which severally grasps a line connecting the points of each route on a road map data and analyzes all the route plans for computing the angle of each element, a road angle arrangement group data storing means 8 to store the above angle in the each route plan, an angle computing means B.9 which analyzes the running locus of the car to compute the angle of the each element, and a running locus angle arrangement data storing means 10 to store the above angle. A running route selecting means 11 compares the road angle arrangement of the each route plan with its running locus angle arrangement to select the most approximate route plan, and an image matching means 12 matches a coordinate computed by the computing means 6 to the above selected route plan, and displays its output on an image display means 1. |
