PURPOSE:To adjust the beam position readily and accurately by providing a differential transformer in the beam which holds a pin, and sensing the up and down displacement of the beam as the voltage variation. CONSTITUTION:A core 15 is attached to one end of the beam 3 which is fixed to a frame 6 and at the other end of which the pin 2 is attached. A hollow coil 16 is fixed to the separate fixing position so as not to contact with the core 15. The differential transformer 17 is constituted by the coil 15 and the coil 16. The fine movement of the core 15 appears as an inductance variation of the coil 16, and said inductance variation is recorded in a meter as a voltage signal. In this constitution, if the relationship between the small load W and the output V from the differential transformer caused by the change in beam position is checked, the load on the specimen surface caused by the friction can be compensated, and the accurate friction force can be computed. |
