PURPOSE:To improve durability without damaging the switching performance of the optical path by providing to an abutting surface of the other switch element a discontinuous part where the end surface part of a fiber array and the end surface part of both positioning grooves may be discontinuously. CONSTITUTION:When the second switch element 3 is shifted from the stationary position to the switching position while the first switch element 3 is fixed, then a positioning pin 4 is shifted from the engaged condition with the first positioning groove 9a to the engaged condition with the second positioning groove 9b, and the optical path is switched. This switching shift of a switch element 2 allows the friction between the positioning pin 4 and both positioning grooves 9a, 9b to be decreased by the lubricant in the positioning grooves, leading to improvement of durability. And if the lubricant flows out of the positioning grooves at the abutting end surface of the switch element 2, a discontinuous part 13 between an end surface 6a of the fiber array 5 and the end surface part 6b of both positioning grooves prevents the flow of the lubricant, and the lubricant does not flow up to the end surface of the fiber array 5. This constitution improves the connection properties. |
