<p>PURPOSE:To provide the titled ink having excellent water resistance, clear color tone, etc., consisting of an emulsion contg. colored water-base polymer particles obtd. by dyeing particles of a copolymer of an ethylenically unsaturated sulfonic acid and an ethylenically unsaturated monomer with a basic dye. CONSTITUTION:An ethylenically unsaturated sulfonic acid (salt) such as vinylsulfonic acid and other ethylenically unsaturated monomer (e.g. methyl acrylate) copolymerizable therewith at 100 deg.C or below to produce polymer particles having an average particle size of 1mu or below, are copolymierzed in water to prepare an emulsion contg. copolymer particles having an average particles size of 1mu or below and a sulto group content of at least 2X10<-5> gram equivalent/gram of polymer. The copolymer particles in the emulsion are dyed with a basic to obtain the desired ink for ink jet recording, consisting of a colored water-base polymer emulsion.</p> |
