PURPOSE:To manufacture the above plastic lens having a favorable quality at favorable yield by reducing drastically the incidence of a mold release crack at the time of mold release, by manufacturing the plastic lens by making use of glass mold which is surface-treated with a surface active agent. CONSTITUTION:A raw material monomer or a prepolymer is cast into an air gap between two matrixes made of glass arranged by facing on each other, polymerised and plastic lens is manufactured. On this occasion, surface treatment is performed with a surface-active agent having a hydrophilic group on the one hand and a hydrophobic group on the other hand, a polymer is cast into the matrix made of glass on the surface of which a molecular layer of the surface-active agent is formed and polymerized. With this construction, the incidence of a mold release crack at the time of mold release can be reduced. |
