PURPOSE:To ensure that high printing density is obtained in the fast printing mode and data is printed sharply and with highly repeatable printability by using ink with comparatively low modulus of elasticity for a farthest ink layer of a surface support and ink with comparatively high modulus of elasticity for a nearest ink layer. CONSTITUTION:A thermally melting ink layer is provided on a support, and at the same time, the ink layer is of a multi-structure consisting of various ink compositions. A farthest ink layer from the support contains an ethylene copolymer having number average molecular weight of 1.5X10<4> to 2.0X10<4>, a melt flow rate 100 to 400dg/min and the content of comonomer of 20 to 50wt.% under the copolymerization with ethylene. On the other hand, nearest ink layer contains an ethylene copolymer having number average molecular weight of 1.8X10<4> to 9.0X10<4>, a melt flow rate of 100dg/min or lower and the content of comonomer of 20wt.% or lower through the copolymerization with ethylene. Thus the thermal transfer recording medium obtained is capable of high repeatability. |
