PURPOSE:To obtain the title cement having high strength when hardened, maintaining pH thereof in the vicinity of neutrality, having little irritation and affinity for organisms by using alpha type calcium tertiary phosphate and a specific calcium aluminate as main components of powder and a hardening solution. CONSTITUTION:In cement for dentistry and orthopedic surgery comprising powder and a hardening solution, alpha type calcium tertiary phosphate and calcium aluminate shown by the formula (n is 0.5<=n<=5) as main components of powder are combined with a hardening solution (e.g. polyacrylic acid). alpha type calcium tertiary phosphate is a component to be reacted with the hardening solution to form a tough hardened material and is a main component for hardening cement. Calcium aluminate is a component to mainly act as a pH adjuster, maintains the system in the vicinity of neutrality, calcium aluminate itself reacts with water, hardens and controls pH without reducing strength of obtained hardened material. |
