Packaged milk-based food is prepared by adding to each of separate portions of milk, thickening and stabilizing agents in the form of carragheen moss extracts associated with galactous and amylaceous materials, adding to each portion sodium salts of the sulphate and phosphate type to control the rate of setting, pouring the portions into a receiver having a partition adapted to prevent said portions mingling, allow the portions to set and removing the partition. The portions may contain different colouring and/or flavouring agents. Suitable extracts are those of the "gigortina" and "chondrus crispus" types. |
