NEW MATERIAL:A compound of formula I (R<1> is alkenyl, alkinyl; R<2> is H, methyl). EXAMPLE:4-(2-Methyl-2-propenyloxy)-4'-glycidyloxydiphenyl sulfone. USE:A storage stabilizer for improving the storage stability and plasticizer resistance of developed color images in color-developing recording media. PREPARATION:A phenol compound such as 4-(2-methyl-2-propenyloxy)-4'- hydroxydiphenyl sulfone is reacted with an epichlorohydrin in the presence of a catalyst such as trimethyl sulfonyl iodide at 75-80 deg.C. The excessive epichlorohydrin is distilled out, mixed with toluene, thermally refluxed and subsequently azeotropically dehydrated, while a NaOH aqueous solution is dropped. |
