The article according to the invention permits the essential functions for the filtration and the treatment of the air in operating theatres. It is presented in the form of a cabinet with a double body: a service body (1) and an external body (2). These two bodies are independent. The service unit (1) comprises, within its volume, successively in the direction from the air inlet (4) to the air outlet (16), a fine filter (5), an exchanger (6) supplied with iced water, a screen (7) against the entrainment of the water droplets, an exchanger (8) supplied with hot water, a device for acoustic correction (9), a very fine filter (10), a device for acoustic correction (11), a ventilator (12) with its motor (13), a vapour humidification ramp (15). The article according to the invention is intended in particular for biological decontamination of the air in operating theatres. <IMAGE>
