PURPOSE:To previously detect an illegal I/O by setting up a password at the time of starting a system and setting up volume management information indicating the start position and size of an individual volume in a volume management table in a main storage at the time of starting the system. CONSTITUTION:A system fixed value is set up in a password 6 by a password setting means 1, a volume management table start position and volume management table size are set up in volume management information 7 by a volume management information setting means 2, and an I/O request to a device B in a disk device group 10 is outputted, an I/O control part receiving an I/O request decides whether an I/O range is included in a volume management table range or not by an access area deciding means 3. Consequently the generation of volume management data destruction, illegal data reading, etc., can be previously prevented.
