Method for shaping a bag containing a unit dose of a product in liquid, pulverulent or pasty form, and of the type consisting of at least one sheet of flexible material folded on itself to form two faces (2, 3) joining by their edges (8, 8') and a transverse base joining the two faces as well as two side walls (13, 14) formed by folds of the marginal edges of the two faces, the base being of the type comprising a central surface (5) of quadrilateral shape, two first sides of which are each adjacent to one of the two faces (2, 3), the quadrilateral base extending on the second two mutually opposite sides in two wings (6, 7) extending downwards below the said base (5), and the method is characterised in that the triangular wings are retracted by folding upwards or by cutting, releasing the rectangular central surface (5) of the base, which can thus constitute a support plane for the bag, in its vertical self-stable position. <IMAGE>
