TREATMENT OF TEXTILE PRODUCT

PURPOSE:To achieve excellent yellowing-elimination effect with a simple and quick operation by subjecting a textile product composed of a polyester fiber and a polyamide fiber to alkali-thinning treatment and treating the product with an aqueous solution containing an organic phosphonic acid. CONSTITUTION:A textile product made of a polyester fiber and a polyamide fiber or of a conjugate fiber of a polyester polymer and a polyamide polymer is subjected to alkali-thinning treatment and treated with an aqueous solution containing 1-5g/l of a monophosphonic acid and/or a diphosphonic acid to eliminate the yellowing of the polyamide fiber generated by the alkali-thinning treatment. The process is especially effective when a quaternary ammonium salt is used as an accelerator for the alkali-thinning treatment.
