PURPOSE:To obtain a cotton bale causing little moisture-absorption and moisture-desorption of ginned cotton by applying a specific amount of a polyorganosiloxane having a specific structure to a ginned cotton to be pressed and baled. CONSTITUTION:A cotton bale causing little moisture variation of ginned cotton with variation of the temperature and humidity of environment is produced by applying 0.03-2wt.% of a water-insoluble or water-dispersible linear polyorganosiloxane to pressed and baled ginned cotton. The polyorganosiloxane has 10-6,000 siloxane units of formula I [A and B are bonded in the state of block or random bonding; A is dimethylsiloxane unit of formula II; B is modified siloxane unit of formula III (R<1> and R<2> are 2-3C alkylene; R<3> is H, l-8C alkyl, etc.; (e) is 1-10); T<1> and T<2> are polysiloxane terminal group of formula IV, V, Vl or H (R<4> is 1-3C alkyl; (d) is 0-3); (a) is 10-2,000; 1<=b<=2a)]. |
