The radiator for an internal-combustion engine has a body(2) formed by parallel plates(3) spaced apart, and through which tubes(4) pass at right angles, leading via an end plate(3a) to a plenum chamber(8). An oblong trough-shaped plastic body(9) enclosing the chamber is fixed to the end plate. A partition in the chamber separates the inlet and outlet unions for the cooling liquid, and a further plastics body connected to the chamber forms an expansion vessel(18). A degasification pipe for the liquid flowing through the radiator connects the pleumn chamber and vessel. The partition runs in the lengthwise direction in the trough-shaped body, while the tubes are U-shaped, leading to the plenum chamber at both ends. One end(21) of the degasification pipe(20) is adjacent to the partition, so as to connect both the to the inlet and the outlet(12) chamber. ADVANTAGE - Simple, efficient, and gives effective coolant degasification.
