PURPOSE:To reduce injection amounts of backfilling materials by forming at least one or more sides of a shield cylinder consisting of four sides such as a corner, side slab, top slab and bottom slab in the shape of a bow. CONSTITUTION:A shield cylinder 2 is constituted of bow-like corner 2a, side slab 2b, top slab 2c and bottom slab 2d. Various amounts of sections of a tail plate 4, etc., forming the outer frame of a rectangular shield machine 1 are reduced by making use of a dynamic advantage. According to the constitution, a space (g) between the ground G and a segment 5 is lessened, injection amounts of backfilling materials such as mortar, etc., are reduced, economic efficiency is promoted and, at the same time, ground surface settlement amounts can be reduced. |
